About this domain
4wdsupplies.com.au was home to a small online 4WD accessories store from around 2012 to 2018. It later lapsed and was parked. The domain was relaunched in 2026 as an independent guide, and every page has been written from scratch. We aren't connected with any previous operator or any business with a similar name, and we don't sell gear.

We base our guides on authoritative sources, including:
- state and territory transport agencies and the National Code of Practice for light vehicle construction and modification (VSB 14);
- national, state and territory park authorities;
- motoring clubs and four-wheel-drive associations;
- the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) on personal locator beacons, and the ACMA on radio;
- Product Safety Australia and manufacturers' published instructions.
We list sources on every page and show when each guide was last updated. We don't invent test results, load ratings, prices or reviews. Read our editorial policy.

Four-wheel driving and vehicle recovery can be dangerous. Recovery gear stores huge amounts of energy, and equipment failures have caused serious injuries and deaths. Our guides are general information, not a substitute for hands-on training. Do an accredited four-wheel-drive and recovery course, use gear within its rated limits, and follow manufacturers' instructions.
